Help With Audio System

Hi I'm a newcomer to the car audio community.

I listen to mostly rap and hip-hop and need a system that will make my music bump.

I have a 2003 Audi A6 and am looking to install subwoofer(s) in the trunk. I need some help wading through all the subwoofers and finding a system that will sound good and meet my budget.

I want to spend up to $500 on subwoofer(s) and am thinking of going with one or maybe two 12"s. I don't need a competitive sound system but I need something that will bump and impress people at high school.

Any suggestions?

$500 on just the drivers, or $500 combined with the amp(s)?

I think we can ignore doing anything to the front stage at this point.

yea unless highschoolers mention uprading front stage, then they dont want to...They just like their bass....A6 come with a bose stereo if im not mistaken, so the front stage is not so good, but not as bad as they come.

lol im one of those high schoolers who started with only bass and almost no music. but any ways this is my suggestion

HU: Alpine CDE-9845

Sub: 12'' Alpine type R

Amp: Hifonics BX605

anything left over should cover installation, wires, etc.

$500 on the drivers alone.

And I will leave the front untouched (for now at least) it sounds decent. I just want to replace the almost nonexistant subwoofer.

My plan is to install the sub on the side wall of the trunk (with the other sub on the other side if necessary) and put the amp on the bottom of the trunk with a false floor.

its not exactly necessary but its strongly suggested

also keep in mind that it is hard to suggest just a certain brand or model because everyone has different tastes in what they think sounds good. so if i were you i would try and listen to as many setups as i could before making a final decision
