Ight so about 2 weeks ago I ran into a problem. My sub was making a popping sound and i had no idea wtf it was so i broke it down and made sure all my wiring was good and still nothing change. heres the thread on what happenend

http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=265333

Now, today I got the idea to try my speaker amp on my subs just to see if it was my amp. Well it turns out my subs worked and the amp was pushing them. So all is likely to be my amp. So after i tried the amp switch i took a look at my amp. Before anything, about 2 weeks ago it had been raining like a motha f*ck so I was worried that my trunk wasnt sealed all the way and the water might reach it, but my amp is way behind the trunk liner so i said forget it. Now today when i took my amp and looked at it closely I noticed this mark on the top of the amp.....

looks like a rust ring? like water was sitting on top of it. so, i cracked open the amp, not knowing what the hell to look for, because im not to smart when it comes to the guts of amps. so i was just looking for any burn marks or anything that looks like water residue. Found nothing. but i did noticed some things on the amp that kind of got my attention. for one it looks to me like this part (not sure what the hell it is) looks like it burned, or it just looks like that because it was soldered on ..heres the pic

also, this type of plaster crap. I expected this sh*t to be dry but it was moist and wasnt dry at all.

I dont know if this can really help but im tryin to see if anyone with a good knowledge of this amp (orion 2500D) can spot anything out of the ordinary. took some shots of the amp to help you out.

check all your connections first. it might be something as simple a loose connection. more often then not it is something small like that. It's possible something with the RCA inputs on the amp are glitchy and thats causeing the popping sound. try differant rca cables. even though a differant amp worked fine in there, double check it anyways along with the speaker wire connectons for the subs. if the connections are good and its still making that popping it's rca inputs. check with local repair shops, those kinds of things are not horindously expensive to fix.

Your amp looks perfectly fine internally on pics. Failure rate of Orion 2500D's amps unfortunately is very high, that why not many shops are enthusiastic to repair them - if they give warranty for an amp, they can be married to it for life //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif If you decide to sell it, let me know.
