Hey, I just got a 12inch Type R and seeing how everyone says they should be in a ported box, I need box plans for one. It will be my first box that I will build. Also, its a 4ohm sub, so how many ohms should I wire it to my amp. I dont really understand the whole ohm thing though. I have an 800watt kenwood stereo amp. Thanks!

Ok, I did some more looking around. They recomended this box http://img35.imageshack.us/my.php?image=5cubes32hz62sqin6hk.png to another forum member who listens to metal like I do. I'm guessing it is good. Also, its a 2005 sub if that comes into play.
What does the ohms wiring do? Does it make it louder or hit harder. What ohms should I wire it to and how do I do that. Thanks guys!!!
the ohm load is how the amplifier is seen by the sub. If you wire your dual voice coil 4 ohm sub to an amp, you should wire it at 2 ohms. I do not know what kind of power that kenwood puts out at 2 ohms.

check the wiring or amplifier section for the voice coil wiring options sticky. it will show you how to wire your sub to an amp at 2 ohms.
