Help with 5 channel amp

ditch the rear fill and run some good components with a decent amount of power up front

I just installed the same amp (KX700.5) - and I am using it in 3-channel operation. I'm getting ~ 140x2 @ 4ohm and ~ 300x1 @ 3 ohm. It's pushing a set of PG RSd65cs components and a JL Audio W6.V1 12. Pretty solid amp!

do you need any special device to run it in 3 channel mode, also are you using all 3 sets of RCAs or just 2 sets, 1 for the sub and 1 for amp 1 (or whatever you call it)

No special device - just bridged. I'm using 2 sets of RCA's - one "front" pre-out and one "sub" pre-out. I then had to use two "Y" RCA splitters to split each channel of the "front" pre-out and then run one to "amp 1" and the other to "amp 2" - then just bridge your speaker connections for amp 1 and 2 respectively.

Edit - heres a quick MS Paint sketch of how to run the rca's

so you'll need... 2 RCA's; 2 "Y" RCA's (one female - 2 male) - to run a set of components and a subwoofer

oh ok, because when i ordered my amp kit, which came with 1 set of rcas, i order an additional 2 more sets. so when if i decide to run a set of comps, and a sub, i need to do the Y rca splitter for one rca that is going to amp 1. or can i run all 3 sets and still bridge them. i hope this makes sense.

Run the y-splitter so there is no chance of signal separation/degredation between amp1 and amp2.

sweet, thanks for the pic description, if there was a rep system, everyone that helped with get +rep lol.

so now i got it, sweet, so if i do decide to go with the 3 channel mode, then i will have a brand new set of twisted rca pairs for sale FTW!!!!!

as far as colors go, it doesnt really matter right, just as long as there all in the right inputs. you know red and white, that kinda shit, since i will be using all the inputs on amp 1 and amp 2, and only 1 from the headunit.

well i get the amp kit today, so hopefully tomorrow i will do the install.
