Help with 2007 Tahoe alt

So I purchased a mechman 270 alt for my 2007 Tahoe and when the alt shuts of to conserve gas the voltage goes solid from 13.8-14.2 to dropping down into the 11's is there anyway around this ivv heard a few things about external regulation but ivv also hear some talk about the mla 15.3

Okay now that I just bough an internally regulated alt is this goinG to be a problem and I going to have to send it back and whatnot or could I just buy an adaptor or something along those lines

Just externally regulate it ..i jist did. a mechman 240 on my impala and i had same problem before..well its gone now....u will need a relay

I use the tow haul button which disables RVC
