Help with 1st box

I have 2 15" memphis M1's

on the memphis site it says the box vented

should be 5.25 cubes @ 34hz 14.5X2.5X16

Can some one hook up a diagram.

being that this is your 1st box....

the front FACE is 14.5 NOT including the top and bottom pieces which are 3/4" + 3/4" =1.5". so top to bottom is a total of 16", which will fit 15" subs. Most 15" subs require a cutout of 14" which would leave you w/ 1/4" above & below the cutouts.

so i will be drilling into the top an bottem of the box to secure the sub?

that's if you mount the sub traditionally, but if you turn the sub just a bit, then you'll be able to keep all the screws on the face piece. if you would to drill on the top or bottom piece, then you would most likely split the wood.

here's a pic of an example... notice that the sub is tilted a bit... the top hole is not in the middle on top.
