help wiring up amp to sub

hey guys, im helping out a friend install his setup and just had a couple question. hes going to be using a 4-channel amp to drive his single sub(ghetto i know- all he has). now i understand its possible to bridge all four channels to two subs but can it be done to a single sub? even worst is its a svc. is bridging all four channels together just not doable?
