Help Wiring Type-R...

I've had my Type-R sub for about 2 months now, and I had it professionally installed. It was in a sealed box, and I took it out b/c I built a ported box. Looking at how it was wired confused me beyond belief. I thought I had a grasp on what was going on, but now the Alpine guide seems to be backwards. They have a DVC 4ohm sub wired at either 8ohm or 2ohm in their guide. So here's my problem. This is how it was wired when it came out of the sealed box:

Yeah, its basic, but thats how it is. The arrow represents the wires. There's no jumper or anything, so this leads me to believe only one voice coil is hooked up? It sounded fine to me. try taking it back to where you got it installed and just ask them to put the sub in the box for you.

You mean it had the wires going to one terminal....Example.. Neg and pos on the left side. If so, thats how mine was wired when I got my sub a long time ago. That was professionally installed aswell.

For the sake of understanding...Its not wired like this right...are there either wire or jumpers going to each terminal...if not, your right only one VC is hooked up, and you need to take it back, and get them to re do it.

Yeah Chevy, thats how I thought it should be wired. Thanks alot. Sorry about the crummy diagram, things got shifted over after I posted. I don't have the jumpers, so I can just use some 12 gauge, right?

Yes, you can use wire instead of jumpers.
