Help wiring capacitor

i just got a lightning audio strike series capacitor...model # LSD10DT-03. it didn't come with very helpful instructions so i have a few questions to ask. it says that it has to be charged before installation, it came with a charge card...do i hook up the card to the capacitor as instructed and leave it there or do i have to take it off? It also says to use the same guage wire from the battery to the cap & the cap to the amp. the cap that i have has a built in distribution block, what i was planning on doing was running a 4 guage wire from the battery to the cap and then use 6 guage wire to the amps. i don't really know that much about capacitors so these might be simple questions but i want to do this right. thanks

Most caps come with a resistor to help charge the cap at a safe level. You will want to check the voltage on the cap while it is charging and once it reaches its required voltage charge (13.5 volts +-.5 volts is typical) then you remove the resistor or in your case the charge card. I would wait for more feedback in this thread as I haven't had experience with that model.

As stated above you hook the charge card to the cap and when it gets to it's required voltage you remove the card and install your power and ground wires. It is best if you use the same size wire on both ends. So if you use 4ga as the power to the cap go ahead and use 4ga to the distro block. Use 4 gauge for the ground also.

u dont have to recharge it everytime u start your car, it will keep the voltage as long as you dont unhook anywires and such, i installed one on my car bout 3 days ago, i was confused on what to do charging wise and such, but i found the resistor mine came with charged it and everything, and it works fine, be sure to put WD 40 on the screws (if u have screws on the top) because if u dont, when u try to take out the screws (i had to take them out, so i could take back my capacitor) then it will strip the thing down where it touches the board... i barely got mine out.. luckily i was smart enough to get something to hold the bottom, while i unscrewed the screw, so just remember to put wd 40 on the screws or youll regret it when u go to remove them
