Help Wiring an Elemental Designs Nine.1

Well, this may be a dumb newb question, but I recently got my Nine.1 in, and I am going to wire it to one ohm load, but which positive and negative terminal on the amp do I use? It has two sets of positive and negative connections, and all I need is to run one positive and one negative from the amp to the subs, and I want to be sure and utilize all the power of my amp. Any ideas how to go about this? Do I use just one of them or do I use a negative from one set and a positive from the other set? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well if its internally wired like most mono amps with 2 output terminals. Basically if you were to wire each side to 2ohm the amp would see a 1ohm load. Its sort of a convience feature that lets you .. for example.. hook up 2 4ohm subs.. one to each speaker output and see a 2ohm load without having to splice any wires. You could easily just use one of the outputs and wire it to a 1ohm load at the speakers and it wont be an isssue.

So use one of the sets of terminals or take one a positive from one and a negative from the other? And can I extend an RCA wire using just 12ga speaker wire? It is a video cable running from my PS2 to my brain.

It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter and in case you missed it the first four times, it doesn't matter.

Just do yourself the favor of buying a cable that is long enough.

I am sorry about that, but I really don't need the sarcasm. Your last post threw me off talking about technically this and technically that about the amp's internal wiring. I just spent $360 on this amp and I am just wanting to be sure. Sorry if that is a crime to you.

Once again, thanks for the sarcasm man. I am just asking you now. I have already replaced all the interior panels in my 350Z and really don't feel like taking it all back out to replace it with a longer RCA. Extending the existing one seems to be the easiest option, and I still have no answer if it can be done with speaker wire, and your comment me helped none in a search for an answer. I am not really familar with car audio, but have enough experience to wire my own anp and look at a wiring diagram. I still need some helpful insight if anybody has any to offer.

wait.. you are trying to extend an RCA cable with speaker wire? how in the world is that going to work. You can just buy a female to female adapter at radio shack and hook another rca to it.

You can extend it by coupling another on with a female to female adapter or you can buy a longer cable and run the longer one. Speaker wire for that is not going to be an option.

You probably didn't need the sarcasm but it made me feel better. The second comment was without sarcasm, BTW.

Well, thanks anyways for the info. It worked out ok. The RCA's on the Playstation 2 were long enough to reach the RCA's. I didn't want to have to use two sets of female to female adapters, as I already had to use some to hook up the PS2 to the RCA's running to my Kenwood. But in the end it worked out ok for me.
