Help wiring a single DVC 4ohm sub to a 4ohm 2 channel amp??

Hey,

I just received an Alpine SWS-1243D sub for christmas, it is a DVC 4ohm sub. Someone also gave me a Boss R635 riot amp, from what I've gathered, its a two-channel amp with rated at 4 ohms.

My question is how would I go about wiring these two together? Everything I've seen has people wiring DVC 4ohm subs to either a 2 or an 8 ohm amps. Is there anyway around this, maybe wiring each of the two channels to an individual voice coil?? Thanks

You could also wire the sub to 8 ohm (put the coils in series) and run one set of wires to the amp and bridge it. A mono 8 ohm load should look the same to the amp as a 4 ohm stereo load.

(I actually did some basic testing on this to see if there was a difference in voltage output at the same levels. It's very little difference..

realley ? I would of thought running 8 ohm load to the amp

that gives off 500w rms bridged at 4 ohms would of cut that # in half

to only give off 250w rms at a ohm load of 8.

seems like most amps generaly cut power by half as homs increase

1 ohm = 1kw

2 ohm = 500w

4 ohm = 300w

8 ohm should in thery give off half of 300w would only be 150w

but I bet it would be verry clean sounding.

maby im wrong tho. as alot of diffrent amp tecnologies

are out there now adays, and ive only got to play with a fiew of em so far.
