My amp is a cheaper low end amp, Lanzar HTG237 1000 Watt 2 Channel Mosfet Amplifier. Volume is more important than Sound Quality.

My speakers are 6.5" (Pair) Pyle Audio PLMRW65 200 Watt Two Way Speakers.

Is it bettert to configure as 2 x 125W RMS at 4 OHMS or 2 x 225W RMS at 2 OHMS per my amp configuration options. The first option would be a single pair split between channels and the second option would be 4 speakers as parallel connected pairs.

Should I be concerned about any risk to my amp or speakers in either configuration?

i didn't look at specs on speakers, it will depend on what ohm the speakers r. how u set ur gains on ur amp, and ur filters.

speakers ar 4 ohm each.

regardless of how I set my gains, isn't one configuration apt to produce louder sound than the other?

The first configuration would have 2 speakers 4 ohms each - one speaker per channel.

The second configuration would have 4 speakers 4 ohms each - a pair wired to be 2 ohms - one pair per channel.

Would one config be louder using the same HU and AMP settings for each config.

well on most amps dropping the ohm load give u more power. so depending on how u have ur amp set u could get a single pop from ur speakers at 2 ohms lol. it really won't matter as long as u get the gains set appropriately and your electrical can handle it. normally when setting gains for speakers / subs u set all hu settings at +/- 0 db. I'm not sure what u do with timing and all that good stuff on the fancy hu's but just set +/- 0 db on settings. 1kw test tone. 3/4 power up on h/u and set ur amps gains with a dmm. then adjust filters to how u want.

my speakers can handle more than my Amp, is it still an issue to be so precise with setting the amp gains? Can I put in a 1kHz tone with the gain way down and base all the way up and increase the gain until I hear a slight distortion and then back off slightly?

use dmm. u never put gains up more than half even if ur speakers can take more. bass just pushes more power to them i guess.. u can do that if u want. but more than likely u will hear the extra bass in ur sub if u have one so u will have to re tune ur bass amp. and most ppl can't hear when they r clipping. dmm is best bet.

So essentially since I have more power with the 2 ohm load the sound will be louder regardless of adding two speakers? Is it as simple as looking at each channal as 1 load or one speaker. I just feel like since I can not fully power two speakers, wouldn't it be worse with 4 speakers, regardless of the math?

wait do u mean 4 speakers or 4 channels? cuz 4 speakers at 100w each would be i think louder than 1 at 400w well i guess it depends on the speaker and how the speakers r set up... id rather have two speakers at 200w each right up front and use stock as rear fill. its all with how many db's the speakers hit. if u have two sounds that are at the same db or are 1 db off u will get another 3 db. so 100 db and 100db speakers. would give u 103 dbs total. 2 db difference gives u 2 dbs more and 5 db difference gives u one more db... if that makes sense. so its hard to say without knowing what the speakers do at different powers.
