Help W/ design on a cylinder

I need help tying to find out sq. ft3, of a cylinder 14 X 20 or so. I need it to be 1sqft, Any help would be great.

Those dimensions you listed would get you about 2f.c... 3077in.c.

14x11.29 would give you 1ft cubed... Not sure if thats what you were asking 'I need it to be 1sqft'

I am building a box W/ cylinders for the the general box sides w/ amp rack in the middle. The cylinders will be 14 inches. But how deep should I made it to come up with a 1 cubic foot ?

i guess you mean that the cylinders diameter is 14, which i think around 11.25 long would be around 1 foot/3

Area of a circle is pi*r^2

Volume of a cylinder is area of circle * length

Make units all the same for ease of calculation:

1 cubic foot = 1728 in

r=7in (half of diameter)

Therefore, A=pi*7^2= 154 in^2

If you already know the volume you want then the equation you use to find length (L) is:

Volume=A*L

1728in^3=154 in^2 *L

1728/154= 11.2

11.2 in

I know it was already answered. Just thought you'd like to see how this is done.

Don't forget that these are internal dimensions, you'll need to account for material thickness.

sq. ft3 is not a dimension. sq ft or ft^2 would be area. ft^3 is volume. you want ft^3. Your question has been answered.
