Help using a Voltmeter.

I am goin out to get a volt meter, but im not to sure as to how to use it.

i am trying to see if my amp or sub is messed up, i know how to check the sub but i do not know how to check the channels on the amp.

Can any one help?

You've been here 2 years and still can't figure it out?

Direct current (DC) Goes into an amp, Alternating current (AC) Comes out. Subs unhooked from amp are ohms as well as grounds to metal. Grounds to power are DC as well.

Edit: and for checking the DC set it on 20 DC.
