help with speakers

I got my car with a new head unit but factory speakers. the speakers stopped working i asked around at car audio places they said based on my discription 95% sure that the speakers were bad. so i got new speakers. I have now installed them and i get a beep in them when i push buttons on my head unit but i cant get any music or even static to come out of them please help

sorry i dont know much so if i dont include something its cause i didnt know it was needed im tryin to learn tho so just tell me what you need to know and ill post it

the head unit is a sony CDX-GT510 what do you mean by speaker outs?

Are you using an amp to power the speakers or are the speakers wired directly to the HU?

oh, they are wired directly to the Head Unit

Hmmm, well, checked the manual for your HU on-line...speaker wiring is not too complicated. Shots in the dark here but did you press the reset button (Page 5)? Check Page 16 to troubleshoot no sound? Fuse OK? See the notes on speaker conenctions on Page 21.

okay well the head unit works the cd spins and it beeps when i push buttons so i dont know what it would do if i had hit the reset button or what to do if i had. i have tried looking at that page to no avail. also i checked the fuse when the speakers first blew but ill check it again and ill checkout the speaker connections but do you think that it could be something to do with the head unit itself?
