help the stereo wont work

there should be a heavy guage Pink, White, Orange. thoes are switched, they are found by the steering colum, coming from the keyswitch.

o right on i did try and test the orange earlier and got nothing i think my probe wasnt in far enough, or my dmm is crappy. so i will try that when i have him come back. but off to oder my 791xv

alrighty i went to the orange wire at the ignition and it worked. so i got him on his way and he was like why isnt it working so i check his fuse it was popped so i put another in and it pops right away and then i throw another in and it popped so i checked all the wiring nothing is bare and chaved so i said go to BB and pick up somemore fuses and put one in or ask the guys to throw it in. so it is now out of my hands! cross my fingers

well he called me back and said best buy wouldnt put the fuse in for him kuz it is a ground issue. so i am having him come back once again tomorrow and i am tearing out the power wire that is in there now and putting his stuff in that i took from his old car kuz i know it is knick free. and then my buddy called and said the same thing it is grounding out somewhere, and that i should just re wire it real quick. so i am gonna do the ol tape the new 8 gauge to the existing 4 gauge and pull. this truck is pissing me off! and it has been hacked up screws missing everywhere and duct tape used for electrical tape.
