Help sub won't hit

2002 Land Rover Discovery with Alpine Wiring Information

I followed this wiring guide.

anyways the wires and there colors are in the back of the truck i have a 2002 land rover discovery. i have everything wired together correctly i believe. my problem is the sub isn't loud and is not producing bass. like i feel a small amount of air and can feel the sub vibrate. but its quite and there is no hitting. I only hear the stock bass from the door speakers. i wired it into the stock subwoofer wires that are in the back of the truck and used the high line wires so i wouldn't have to run rca and a remote turn on wire. the sub powers on correctly and all but like said above no hit.

This is my sub: JBL GT-BassPro12 Ported powered subwoofer with 12" sub and 150-watt amp at Crutchfield.com

i mean i kinda figured it wouldn't be extremely loud but its not producing anything the airflow is minimal. i checked out my friends 100watt bazooka and it puts out more then this does. maybe i didn't do something right? could i improve it with a new hu and using rcas instead?

even in this video its doing something mine does nothing

It had a speaker wire harness that you use to tap into existing speaker lines. so i tapped into existing subwoofer lines for the stock subs now they don't work because i disconnected them and replaced them with the JBL basically. so i did not have to use RCA cables. could i have wired that wrong? should i just ditch that get a new HU and use RCAs?

I unplugged it and the bass in the car was the same its adding nothing.

I did buy it on amazon as "open box" i hope it wasn't defective. but there is 0 movement of the speaker i followed all the setting controls in the manual nothing is working.

Could it also be that my ground isn't good enough? It uses a high line in. Could it be that since where i tapped into the wires its post stock amp and its already a bass signal and the JBL is converting a bass signal to a lower bass signal to where there is nothing at all? basically as if that rover amp is retarding my jbls amp? heres some pictures:

Well first off your getting power from the positive and negative from your stock sub wires? You expect to get power from a speaker wire + - and an amp is suuposed to pull 150 watts through those wires? Do you have a separate power wire ran from your stock battery up front? And a ground made in your trunk?

i used seperate power and ground could it be since its high level imput on a low level signal its converting it so low no sound comes out?
If you do like bass4days said you should be set sub level will not have to be the same but everything else looks right if your using an aftermarket deck you don't need a line out converter but if you do have a factory head and money for an aftermarket unit I would recommend getting one

If you bought a aftermarket HU you would then have a remote and rca's directly from your HU. If you have stock HU you need to the the audio signals from a speaker in the back or your stock sub. Connect those to a Inline Converter and plug your rcas into the converter and other end goes into the input on your amp. As for a remote your going to have to fight a wire when you turn your key off you lose the 12 volt signal and when you turn your key on you get a 12 volt reading. That is going to make it so when you turn your key off it shuts your amp off so you dont end up with a dead battery. ALso power wire from your front battery to the back and your ground could end up being an issue. Make sure its to your frame and make sure there is no paint. Sand the metal down for a clean surface.
