Help Setting up a System, Need Advice.

I recently got a pair of Polk Audio dxi690 from a friend as a gift for my car since the last owner ripped out all the wiring for the doors and have no speakers.

I'm looking to rewire the whole car which is a 2006 Honda accord lx sedan, and going to run the stock head unit, if anyone has searched these cars up, there are barely replacements/horrible looking faces for the head unit, so I'm deciding to stick with the factory one.

What I need help with is choosing an amp and a pair of front speakers that would run perfect with the Polk Audio Dxi690s which are going on the rear deck, i really want to turn the volume up without getting any distortion since I tend to do that a lot, i haven't thought about going component or coaxial.

I was also thinking about going 100 watts rms all around, but looking at 100W 4 channel amps arent going that cheap.

Also, since i have little play with the levels, is it possible to add a eq in the mix since i am limited to only bass and treble on the stock factory?

Bottom line, Nice system with little distortion when volume is raised all the way, need a pair front speakers and an amp.

Thanks in advance, i appreciate it.

The problem with the stock HU is that it probably does not have RCA's outputs which you will need for any decient amp.

If the dash has some weird design you should be able to find an after market bezel online that will look nice.

The speakers and amp are entirely dependant on how much you wana spend, and what your own personal preference is.

I enjoy my focals atm, but they are not cheap.

I have used an Alpine Amp, no complaints, but I am not impressed with their latest lineup for this year.

Is been my (somewhat) limited experience that the HU will have more to do with the sound quality then the amp, but dont expect all amps to sound the same either.

You would be amazed at how much improvement you can get if you change out the HU on a stock system.

Hope this helps you.
