Help setting crossover for 12w7

I have a ported 12w7 run off a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 amp. For the lowpass crossover, should I use the crossover on the amp (which is not defeatable) or the headunit, or both? Rite now, I have the amp lp set to 300hz and the low pass on my head unit set to 63hz, because it is too hard to find the right setting on the PG amp. Is it bad practice to have two crossovers set?

its fine to use both but 300hz is way too high. 80 would be plenty high.

I know, I am using the one at 300 to essentially bypass it so that the headunit one is the one that has the effect
