[Help!] Replacing Speakers for 2004 Dodge Neon

Hello all,

I drive a 2004 Dodge neon.  The factory speakers have surprisingly served me well and been great until recently, they really lost their fullness.  They are shot - time for new speakers.  I need help on getting replacements/slight upgrade.  Wont have this car for too much longer so don't want to invest too much but still want to get my good sound back.  

Looking at these two options:

What is the better of these two options?  Kicker?

Also, I am guessing it would be necessary to add a new stereo to make sure there isnt bottlenecking?  I am pretty clueless when it comes to stereos and matching them with speakers, what would be a good cheapest stereo that would work well with one of the above speaker packages i mentioned?   

Lastly, I havent really thought about a sub, and I know that causes additional matching issues with stereo and speakers.  Would these speakers above have enough bass that a sub isnt worth it when Im doing just a semi casual replacement?

Yes, also need reccomendation on if and what affordable stereo I would need.  If necessary.

well, the stock deck will work with those, but for an additional $70 you can get a deck that will sound tons better. the entry level pioneers are the go-to right now. just make sure it has a 13 band eq, high pass crossover and time alignment. the chrysler products of that era are pretty easy to install a deck in
