... why would you even brag about your car's engine on a car AUDIO forum? That just means you're trying to justify it, or be a cool guy. Anyone with money can get a fast / powerful car. Just depends on if you can drive it well. I've seen Ferarri's lose in a race because the driver didn't know anything about anything... I just think it's dumb to come bragging about your engine. A simple, "Help plan a system for my ***** Am" would be acceptable. Then you can mention you want it to be a track / show car.
As far as equipment, if you're looking into quality, look into Image Dynamics' subs. IDQ is a good one. IDMAX is the one I'm looking on getting when I have the money. For components, you should look into Rainbow or Focal.
For the amp-stage, I'd get a Xenon board (like RD, SD, and all of those other companies use) to run the subs, and maybe a nice Orion or similair amp for the mids/highs. If you want, you can go active. You just need to buy an external processor. Which are $100-200 bucks. I hear great things about active.
And deaden the hell out of your car first. Second Skin is some good stuff.
Also, if you're actually thinking about SQ over anything else. You should get a 3-way set which consists of mid-bass driver, mid-high driver, and high drivers. So, it takes the stress off of the mid-range by giving it two drivers, and thus (in most cases) giving it a better sound. You can wire these over a passive cross-over. But, they really shine over actives. The problem with active is that you'd need a 6 channel amp (or a 4x1 and 2x1, or 2x3, etc.) just for one set. A passive you'd only need 2 channels per set. So you'd have to buy more amps. But, like I said, if you want quality, it can't be beat. It will give you a nice full sound.
Addressing your want for two sets of components, there's no real need, honestly. I only have on set in my Mustang, and no one can even tell a difference. If they're in the back seat, the bass does tend to drain out everything. But, they don't realize there's no a speaker behind them. Most of the time if I don't tell them I have a system, they don't know. They just think I have really good stock speakers. Which is the way I like it.
So, save your money on the extra set, and buy either a better set of components, or a better amp.
