Help plan a system for my LS7 ***** Am

Hey guys im building a 2001 ***** Am with a 454 LS7. ~650WHP

Its my daily driver/ show car/ track car

Im looking for a high quality system.

I will be keeping my stock HU. i like the stock look.

So ive been reading all night.

I guess i need to get a LOC. 4ch? 2ch?

then i want a 4ch amp ~600 RMS

to power my (2) 6.5" subs

and my (2) 6.5 components w/ 3/4" tweeters

then i want a 10" sub w/ a mono amp

Then entire car is sound deadened w/ 180sq ft. of 60mil and 6 yards of ensolite.

Im looking for a really clear and loud system.

Id also like to hook up a 12 disc CD changer and my ipod.

sounds like you want a nice system but its really gunna sound like crap with your stock h/u ...your gunna need to change ur deck if you want it to sound really good

I was looking at a 10" Kicker L5 2 Ohm Sub

and the kicker 500W Class D Mono Amp

and the JL 6w3 300W 4 Ohm Mids

and Rockford Fosgate R162S Components

with a Kicker 650W Class A/B Amp

Thats wat i figured, but not what i wanted to hear. Im just not a fan of aftermarket head units... i guess ill start looking.

Ive decided to not do a head unit. Ive worked harrd to make this car appear stock with all the work done.

So i guess i just need some good speakers than i can blast without much distortion.

You can use a JL Clean Sweep to keep your stock head unit and still get the aftermarket effect.

Get a 3 way component set. Don't worry about piecing together a 2-way comp set and "6.5" subs for mids. Look into a Dynaudio or Morel 3-way comp set and the Zapco Reference amps. They work well with factory head units. As far as subs, an Image Dynamics IDQ would fit the small sealed bill.

What is your budget? If you have a sufficient budget you can still put a really nice system together while retaining as much of the stock look as possible.
