Help on tuning a bridged 4 ch

I have some MB Quart PCE 216 component speakers that I have been running for a while now hooked up to a mtx 4 channel amp (bridged, all the headunit adjusments ex. fader and balance, act really funny on the speakers like fader front and rear does left to right on the speakers....probably got something wrong).

Anyways I am wanting to go back through my system and tune it the correct way to help out with the output of the system.

Can some one help me out in figuring out how to tune this system and set up the amp to go bridged. I searched trying to figure out how to do the voltage ratings on the amp but had some issues when you take a 4 ch and bridge it to 2 channels because of the two different gain settings on the amp. What RCAs need to be hooked up and where, what setings do i run it in. Someone just help me out alittle and get me going in the right directions.

for my rca's, i used y-adapters and my front-left splits goes into the 'front' rca's on the amplifier and my front-right goes to the 'rear' rca's. also had to set my amp to 2-channel mode. yours could be different depending on how you wired it.

well i wired it up with two rca's.....front and rear. I was just wondering what the best way to do it is and if this is the right way. I want to re-tune everything on it and actually do it right this time with the mulitimeter.....what i was having some issues with as well are when setting the gains to the voltage needed, do i have to set up both sides of the amp because it has two sets of gains........also how do you calculate the voltage when using a 4 channel amp and bridging it....

i meant how you wired your speaker outputs, you match the front rca's from the HU to the amp rca's according to how you wired the speakers outputs. yes you set up both sides, because youre using the "front" for one side and "rear" for the other. for setting the gain, theres a tutorial in the amplifiers section i believe. stick the prongs in the outputs you are actually using, so you get bridged output when measuring. i'd just set it by ear though.

i've had good luck settin' by ear. my front gains have to be turned down some to match the subs, my subs are sealed, so the fronts are too much if the amp is tuned to full potential. my opinion is that the front stage should always be tuned by ear. i WAS tuning everything with the eq, and setting the gains on both amps to full potential. i personally prefer to set the subs at full potential and go by ear with the front stage.

so most of the people that are using the multimeter are only doing that for the subs???

Wasnt sure if you did this for all of them.....i mean how they are set up now sound fine, just wasnt sure if i was getting the full potential out of them........and all the fader and balance is off but we already covered that

not sure what most people are doing. that's what i personally do. i like the sound better that way. my fronts seem way too harsh and ear piercing at full potential, so i don't have them even at half gain. somewhat depends on music preference and personal taste.

my hardest obstacle was evenning everything out because of the wide array of music i like. i like hip hop, metal, blues, southern rock (lynard skynard), and any kind of bad *** guitar solo based jams. setting eq's and gains is a *****. trial and error is always the best way in my mind. no meter or computer can adjust the human ear.
