I need help. I have 2 12w6v2's in a sealed enclosure made to specs powered by a Nakamichi PA-8001 amplifier. Amp is rated at 1000watts@ 1ohm with Alpine 9835 hu.

Here are my settings on the amp:

Gain- 1/4 up

bass boost- max

low pass- 33hz

high pass- 11hz

q- I have no idea wat it is but i have it 1/2 way up

frequency- I have no idea wat it is but i have it 3/4 way up

settings on my deck:

bass control is set at max which is 15

user control (bass frequency)is also set to max and at 25hz

Bass control is on

phase is set at 0* on both HU and amp

stereo/mono mode is set to mono

My problem is, there isnt quite enough bass. On songs like those bass mekanic songs....it hits it really nice and clean and deep, but if I was to pop in trance, or hip hop it seems like all the bass is gone.

For example; Westside Connection - Terrorist Threats album when the bass hits there is no boom coming from my subs at all. Same goes for almost all of my rap/hip hop cd's including all of my trance cd's. Is it suppose to be like this... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif and when compared to my friends system his system hits all the bass notes that mine doesnt. His system by the way is 2 10" rockford fosgate hx2's in a sealed enclosure made to specs powered by a rockford fosgate bd1000. Im guessing it could be my enclosure, my enclosure isnt a regular rectangular box its a custom made box shape like a T made to fit my trunk. Could that be it?? I hope not because the place that made this enclosure for me is an authorized jl audio dealer to or does that even matter??.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Low pass- set to 60-80hz, bass boost at 1/4 (check to see frequency is set at 45hz) Q is either narrow or wide at full -set to wide (set up like this because of the music you listen to). Set everything on H/U to zero. Now with setting the gains, Set H/U volume to 3/4 then with the gains on the amp use a pink noise test track-bass machanic cd will have one (complex Wave). To tell when your adding distortion to the signal (clipping) turn the gain up slowly when it ramps in volume your adding distortion, back it off just before the point it ramped in volume-your gains are now set-but if you have speakers connected to your h/u you need to do this with the volume to find the clipping point of your H/Us internal amp. When this is done then proceed to doing the amps gains.

Thanks! I tested it using one of my old bass cd's. I believe the cd is Bass Creations using track 1 I couldnt find where I put my bass mekanik cd's but this cd is just as good. When I adjusted the low pass crossover to 60-80hz as u mentioned the bass didnt seem to hit as clean and deep as if the crossover were set to 33hz as I had it. But the bass seem to come alive when I popped in my trance and hip hop cds. Is there a way so that the subs will be able to hit the low lows when it needs to with out having to adj the low pass crossover?? and I forgot to mention that on my HU the low pass frequency is set from 25hz - 150hz...so doesnt that mean that my subs should be hitting any bass note in that range?? or am I totallly off....

ok cool. but if they arent maxed it seems like there isnt any punch coming from my subs...it seems like all the punch is coming from my mids....maybe my settings arent setup correctly...??
