Help on setting gains...

k i just set my gains my amp since i got a multimeter...i have a monoblock amp...doing a 4 ohm load..on the birthsheet its 614 rms....so it should be set at 49.5 volts....when i tried using a multimeter it didnt give whole numbers...it was "0.145" for example....so i set it to 0.495...i dont know if its right....or if thats how the multimeter is..what do u guys think? thanks

i used the ac voltage setting ..."V" with the squiggle on the top...its right next to the off setting in this pic

The meter should have different settings for maximum ranges...you might have it set where the maximum voltage is 1V, instead of 100V...

In that case, it should be reading larger numbers.

You're measuring at the amp's output terminals using a test tone, correct?

im using a 50hz test tone 0db

set it to the V~

It should auto range, if not, push the yellow button in the middle till you set the range correctly 00.0

Dont hate if thats wrong but I think that is correct

The power coming out of your amp, going to your speakers is AC, alternating current.

P.S. Sorry for the hijack but I seriously wasn't aware of the fact that the amp is a converter.
