I'm trying to get some decent sound out of my system.

I've got a planet audio 2250 for my subs- any good?

two kicker cvr 4ohm 12s - any good?

I want some Infinity kappa perfect 6 1/2's for the doors but i dont know what kind of amp to put on them.

oh yeah and i have an eclipse avn52d DD.

if anyone has any advice as to what would make what sound better, I'm all ears

i think the eclipse is a 2007 model.

i'd be fine with spending $300 on door speakers and an amp to go with them. maybe a little more.

I am doing all the install. I've built the box(enclosed) and wired everything and installed the HU.

Not too sure about the status of the amp's age.

seemed to be pretty new... -how can i tell?

I think the subs have pretty good SQ, but they do distort every so often when the notes go real low... I hate distortion.

I've put some egg carton foam behind the door speakers in an attempt to make the sound a little better - couldn't tell that much of a difference

When you say deadener, are you talking about expanding foam or dynamat?

Hey, I live in Houston too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Deadener = dynamat not expanding foam. I sent you a PM for some local help if you need it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I have a few 10" CVR's that i am currently trying to get rid of, but i will say that they suprised me slighty with their sound quality. I have a few friends with some kicker L7s that can get very loud but sloppy as hell. I think if you have a correctly tuned box, they will probably be alright, unless of course you have cash to spend on something better......

HEY BLKZ71

this i what i'm using behind my mids doors, if you look around you can find it for cheap.

http://www.woofersetc.com/p1347/11800--Dynamat-DynaXorb-Speaker-Kit.htm

they have 2-4-8 packs.

here are a couple of passive comps sets within your budget, or you can go active.

or

here are a couple of amps also

or

or

remember add deadener to your list.

to find the year was built you can open it up or it maybe on the bottom of the amp.

if your getting distortion @ high levels try to adjust your agians on ther amp, so you wont be clipping.

clipping will burn your voice coils and/or tinsel leads.

are you useing the xover on the deck????,

what do you have you amp xovered @??

are you useing bass boost??,if so turn it all the way down.

does that amp have a filter slope??,12-24db's???

if so where do you have it set @????

how big is your box????

is it ported or sealed????

yeah, I'm using the xover on the deck, but have no idea what I'm doing...

No crossovers on the amp. And i'm afraid of going active because of my lack of knowledge of how to tune.

Bass boost is all the way down. and the Amp is only turned up 1/3 of the way. -afraid of blowing the 12s

not sure what a filter slope is..

box is a sealed enclosure with roughly 1 cubic foot per woofer and it's stuffed with polyfill.

Distortion usually occurs in the low range of notes. And it seems as if they can't go down low enough for most of the notes- as if they fall short of power?

sorry if my descriptions are mediocre, like the title says "NOOB"

-guess i should've put extreme noob

do those mids for the doors put out ample bass with an amp on them? I don't want the doors to be all highs with no bump. -i hate that

^^^

with any speakers you'll need to xover them over on your deck 80-100hz to start with

deadening your doors will help the response of the mids.

the ID & Cadence will be a good starter combo for you.

you want your mids to play mid range & mid bass.

let you sub control the lower bass notes.

your sub amp does have a xover on it,

1)first start by setting your 7 band parametric EQ to flat.

2)turn off the xover on the deck to pass or off

3)on your amp there is a LOW PASS filter which is your xover (50-150), try to set it between 65-80, to start with.Bass boost @ 0,Subsonic filter to off, you wont need a subsonic filter unless your'e going with a ported box.

now after you have adjusted everything you can start to play with the 7band EQ.

oH have you treble, mid, bass, set to 0.to start with.

listen to this

set the up the amp according to your dirctions, but it still has distortion on the low end of the notes.

I'm guessing it's the crappy kicker speakers... idk

yall have convinced me to get somd secondskin deadener, but

should i get the damplifier, or the damplifier pro?

It really depends on your budget.

Damplifier Competes against products like Dynamat Extreme, Stinger Road Kill, and Hushmat, while Damplifier Pro was designed to offer a substantial improvement over those products.

If you can afford the Damplifier Pro, go with it. You will be glad you did.

If your budget allows for regular Damplifier, go with it. You will be glad you did.
