Hi. If you can help I would be very grateful. My head unit is a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT I would like to know what configuration would let me get the most out of my amp and sub(s). I don't want to over power or under power. I've had sealed enclosures in the past, but I may go with ported if it's the best thing for my current situation. While I have always liked the sound quality of a sealed enclosure I am worried this time around it may not give me an adequate sound level with my current audio system. I may have to sacrifice some sound quality and go ported? The sub or subs would be placed in the trunk of a Toyota Camry. I have one 4 channel amp running everything... a Rockford Power T600-4 amp. Two channels (100 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms) are currently running a set of Focal 165 VB components up front and two channels are bridged (300 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms ) to a single 4 ohm 10" JL Audio W0v2 sub in a slot ported box. I borrowed the JL because my Focal sub bit the dust for the second time and I am moving on to another brand of sub. I know this particular JL is "cheap" but I am actually quite happy with it. It's louder than the Focal, plays deeper, and hasn't blown up. Sound quality wise they were about the same. I am not sure if I should go with one 12" sub or two. Maybe my amp doesn't have enough power to do two subs adequately? I will continue this post below...

Am I correct in saying the following with a 2 sub configuration...

1. Two dual voice coil 4 ohm subs can be wired to 2 or 8 ohm? I probably won't do this as my amp can't handle the 2 ohm load and the 8 ohm load would get me, what, 200 watts from the amp instead of 300? Not loud enough?

2. Two 2 ohm subs wired in series make a 4 ohm load? In order to do this the subs would have to be dual voice coil subs? Single voice coil would not work right?

3. 2x 8 Ohm speakers wired parallel = 4 Ohm load? This would give me the same performance results as #2 option above?

Rockford tells me that despite my amp saying it's 2 ohm stable in bridged mode I should not feed it a 2 ohm load. They said "Did you notice that we don't list specs for the 2 ohm bridged load?" Why even list it if it can't do it? So I guess no matter what I am stuck with feeding it a 4 ohm load either with a single 4 ohm sub or two wired to produce a 4 ohm load. Taking in to account the amp I have what should I go with? Should I go with one 4 ohm 12" sealed or ported sub? Two 2 ohm 12" subs wired in series or two 8 ohm speakers wired parallel? Another option I am leaning towards is rather than make a box I was thinking of going with something ready to go from JL Audio such as the...

1. JL Audio CP112-W0v3: Single 12W0v3 BassWedge, Ported, 4 Ω,

http://tinyurl.com/7qvfmen

I am really leaning towards the 12W0v3 BassWedge

Or if I have the above information right I could wire two of these DVC 2 ohm Rockfords in series to get a 4 ohm load?.........

2. Rockford Fosgate P2D2-12 Punch P2 12" subwoofer with dual 2-ohm voice coils (Wire 2 of these in series to get a 4 ohm load?)

Other options...

3. JL Audio CS112TG-W1v2 PowerWedge truck-style Sealed enclosure with one 12" W1v2 subwoofer

JL Audio CS112TG-W1v2 PowerWedge™ truck-style enclosure with one 12" W1v2 subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

4. JL Audio CP212-W0v3: Dual 12W0v3 BassWedge, Ported, 2 Ω (This would require taking the two 4 ohm drivers out and rewiring them to an 8 ohm load to be compatible with my amp right?)

JL Audio CP212-W0v3 BassWedge™ slot-ported enclosure with two 12" W0v3 subwoofers at Crutchfield.com

Or make a custom box with 2 subs with one of these two options...

1. 13W1v2-8: 13-inch (345 mm) Subwoofer Driver, 8 Ω SKU # 92077

JL Audio 13W1v2-8 W1v2 Series 13.5" 8-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

2. JL Audio 13W3v3-8 W3v3 Series 13.5" 8-ohm subwoofer

JL Audio 13W3v3-8 W3v3 Series 13.5" 8-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

My Rockford amp BIRTH SHEET claims 126x4 @4 ohms, 195x4 @ 2 ohms, and 390 x2 @ 4 ohms bridged
