I have a 1000.1 kicker amp and 2.5 farad cap and 2 12' kicker CVRs

why are my lights dimming when the bass hits I thought the point of a cap was to prevent this. Is my battery just shitty and almost about to die or does the cap just blow or is this supposed to happen.

A cap is not going to fix a problem like that, with the current you are consuming with that amp. You need to look into buying a high output alternator.

not suppose to happen. ditch the cap and get another battery so you run 2 batteries run 0 gauge wire and do the big 3, all problems will be solved.
Stop giving bad info.

His problem will not be solved by just adding a second battery.

First of all, capacitors simply help "hide" the problem of dimming, rather than fix it.

Sounds like your electrical isnt cutting it, which isnt surprising with 1000 watts on a stock electrical.

First and foremost, do the big 3 in 1/0gauge wire. After that, if that doesn't fix your problem (which it very well should if done right), you would need to add a second battery or opt for a larger "High Output" alternator. With only 1000 watts, the big 3 should definitely fix it, if not, a supplementary battery or replacing your main one with a new, better battery should do the trick.

It very well could solve his problem, but there are cheaper ways of going about it.
Batteries arent exactly cheap.
I tried running a Kicker 750.1; RF T1000BD and a JL 1000/1 off of my big three upgrade and two yellow tops, and I still had dimming from each and every one of them (All during separate installs of course).

When I hooked up my Memphis Belle 1300, it was just awful, the headlights were practically blinking to the music.

I have to say, the HO alt did the trick for me without the extra battery. Got my pulley made ridiculously small, and I supposedly get about 120amps @ about 800-900 rpm's. I spent about $275 on my alt.

The big three is:

Replacing the wires that run from your battery to your alternator; negative wire from the battery to the vehicle chasis; negative wire that runs from your engine block to your chasis ground. The wire will vary in price from $1.75-$4.00 per foot. You will need around 15' total.

EDIT: I gave some bad info

Must have been a VERY shitty stock electrical or something was just wrong..... but any dimming ive ever seen with

There have been people running 2500+ watts off a STOCK alt with just batteries and big 3 with virtually NO or very little dimming, so how does that make sense if u say batteries dont "work"?? not trying to be an *** by saying that, I just don't see how you can take your situation and apply it to everyones.

what is the big 3 and how much would it cost me
Alt pos to battery positive, battery negative to chassis ground, and engine block to chassis ground

depending on where it is located you can use as little as around 8-10 feet of cable, but usually a little more, sometimes a lot more.

all u need to buy is the cable and the ring terminals... so its very cheap.
