HELP!!! MY head unit shows it is receiving power but it WILL NOT TURN ON!!!

I have a BOSS AUDIO BAMP3500 that I have just installed into my 86' celica. I'm yet to actually wire up the speakers but I have done the amp and woofer and both are showing they are getting power aswell as the Head Unit. But i press the 'power' button and NOTHING!

Should I connect up all the speakers then try again?

I DUNNO!

ANY help would be GREALTY appreciated!!!

checked fuses?

see if any of the speaker wires aren't shorting out with a negative wire or touching a bare metal part of the headunit or car...
