ok to start off id like to say i was planning on getting a FI BL 15" but now since they are out i think im going to go with the audioque hdc315" because its cheaper and i cant find any big differences. let me start off by saying i already cut out the peices fit for the BL and luckily i can re cut them to tune the box for the HDC3...(my port size for the BL was wrong anyway... thank god for RE audios box builder... now i have the right dimensions) and i have some scrap left over.... but the problem is, if mounting depth is the height of the interior of the box plus the top 3/4ths of an inch im still .3" short of the HDC3's mounting depth. (inside height = 7.75") so i was thinking, since the box is square and the sub is going on top, could i just slap a peice of 1/2 inch MDF on the top of the box to raise the sub up.. i know it would look funny but its kind of my only option with out buying all new mdf... will i still be able to nail the port from the top? i havent cut out the sub hole yet...
right now the box is 38x25.5x9.25
and if you know, can the hdc3 run on 1 ohm? how many watts should i run, because i was planning on getting a hifonics bxi1608d and running 1 ohm at 1600w.
thanks for any and all help...
