Help me pick a line out converter...

Hello all!

I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 with the Bose Monsoon stereo. I do not want to change out the stock headunit, as it has all the vehicle's info displayed here. (plus the wife won't let me...haa)

I currently only have a mono amp & sub installed in the car, but I will be amplifying all the speakers eventually.

I have purchased & installed the MTX Re-Q5, but I'm not sure how good this unit really is. I had to get help from their tech support, since to get a signal for the sub amp, I had to tap into the front speakers & not the rears like the instructions said. This has me leary of this Re-Q5's quality. I am still within my 30 day return window.

Should I spend a few more $'s and go with something like the Audio Control rc7??

I really don't want to spend more than $150 on a converter if possible.

Unfortunately, all the display features for the G6 GT go through the factory radio: A&B trips, oil life, tire pressure, mpg, etc. None of these items get displayed through the main odometer.

I am not willing to give up all these features for an upgraded deck. It's too bad, as it sure would make life easier ;(

Looks like a quality piece. It's a bit more than I want to spend, but I do plan on having the car for a while.

Upon further research here is what I have found. The JL Clean Sweep has outputs for front & rear, BUT where are the sub outputs?

Problem solved.

Retains factory drivers information center.

Get that and a good aftermarket HU.

Great info CANAAN, THanks!! Unfortunately, changing out the stock HU is just not an option. It's just not worth all the hassling with the wife ;( She's already pissed at all the $$ I'll be spending as it is.

Right now here is the unit that is leading the race for me:

It's right around $160 which about all I want to spend.

Do you guys have any better ideas?
