I agree with your 100%. Another thing is that most fast foods have a quick turn around here and are always hiring new people. Shouldn't be hard to get a basic job. Also try applying at gas stations also or maybe look into 3rd shift.

I mean, you guys are right. I probably shouldn'tve made this thread, and I probably should get a job.

And surprisingly, this has motivated me to go out and find a job. I actually just got back from applying at places.

But only a few of you have actually been helpful. The rest of you are just being dcks. For no real reason. Of course I'd have to get a job eventually. The question was to gauge the time until I had to actually get one.

I haven't asked my Mom for money in 2 years, and that time won't come anytime soon. I got fired in June from a well paying job ($35/hr as a Web Administrator) so I've been living off of the money I saved up from that. That just ran out paying for this month's car insurance bill.

I'm really not half as bad as you guys are making me out to be.

I'll admit, I'm lazy, and I don't want to get a job. But, I'm sure if any of you could live with out having a job, you'd do it. I'm a slight burden on my Mom. But I do everything around the house (maintenance, yard work, cleaning, etc.), and for you wise-*****, no, I don't get an "allowance." I do it to earn my keep, so my mom doesn't have to, or hire someone else to do it. If I was such a hassle on my Mom, I know she'd tell me to either pay or get out. She loves me, but she won't hesitate to kick me out.

Thank you for being helpful (sqhertz & Reson8), but seroiusly, what the hell is the rest of your problems? I asked a simple question, you blew it to a proportion it wasn't supposed to fill... attacking sides I wasn't even aware I was supposed to defend. I mean, I'm in no way shape or form a rich spoiled kid. I worked and bought my car, I worked and saved to buy it, and all the audio inside, and even though the equipment isn't that good, I love it. Because I worked for it. I worked to pay for the gas when I was going to HS which was about 7 miles or so away from my house. I even went out of my way to pick up my cousins and take them and never got paid for it, or even a thanks. But I'm cool with that. I worked and paid for my car insurance. My mom has never paid for anything involving my car except a tank of gas once 'cause her car broke and I let her use mine while I took the bus.

As for mooching off my friends, I've bought them plenty of stuff when I was "big Bawlin'" off my previous job. I always used to pick up the bill when we went out to eat, and drive them around when we were in a group.

So, if you think I'm a lazy-scum-of-the-earth ******* who mooches off of everyone around him, I'm really not.

Of course you guys will flame this post, too. Call them "excuses". But, I spent days learning web code. (Arsenal includes, but not limited to: HTML, XHTML[Which is unfair to say since it's nearly the same thing as HTML], XML, CSS, MySQL+PHP) And I had a good job because of it that paid a lot... then when the economy ruined the business, I became unemployed again with a bunch of money saved up that I've lived off of since...

And the simple fcking question was should I go and then get a job when I get back, or not go and wait longer to get a job.

So, again... thanks for the fcking flames.

Not really.

But, the thing is, if I can get a job NOT getting minimum wage and doing slave work, I'll hold out until that.

If I'm completely broke I'll get a slave job. But if I can help it, I'm definitely gunna try to find a good job before I settle for some POS job.

EDIT:: I also have stomach problems, and my doctor told me to stay away from uncooked meat whenever possible. So... I took that as 'Don't work with food.'

And I'm okay with that.

I think you should pass on making the trip to see your friend. Might put a strain or even end your current relationship and can affect hers also (if her boyfriend cares or not whether you are sleeping in her bed with her). It isn't that hard to make at least a couple of friends in college.
