help me!!! hu install

Ok so I got my alpine 9815 in the mail today and i got my wiring harness and the wire twist connects. I followed the instructions according to the alpine manual and the directions for the wiring harness.....I have a display and everything....but NO SOUND!!! I'm sure I connected the right wires for the speakers, but there isn't any sound at all coming from them. It's not the speakers because my old radio was working today and has been. HELP ME PLEASE!

you got pwnt by a factory amp

what car are you installing in? i assume you used a wiring harness that plugs in to the stock one.

i had the same **** problem but it was with a pioneer deck i bought from sonicelectronix.com

i never figured out the problem

it's a 95 civic, and i made sure the harness was right for it

have a battery from a drill handy?

take the speaker wires in your harness, and touch the + and - to the + and - of the batt. see if the speaker make a pop.

that would tell you there is nothing in between the speaker and the HU

what do you plug that to if you don't have an amp?

this is obviously my first time installing a hu, if that's the problem i will feel like an idiot, but much better if it works lol

i had the blue from the wiring harness (pwr antenna) connected to the blue from the alpine (pwr antenna) and that didn't work, just now i tried the blue from the wiring harness (pwr antenna) to the blue and white from the alpine (remote turn on) but that didnt work either

yeah try touching a battery to each speaker that will confirm there is a good connect between the wires and speaker and it is the headunit

so which wiring should it be though? blue and white from the alpine to blue on the harness or blue from the alpine to blue on the harness?

check the fuse? maybe u blew fuse connecting it
