help me get to 150

ok guys,

i recently sold my 2 new style 18" btls that i had in about a 10cuft crx style box that COMPLETELY filled the cargo area up to the window line (port FORWARD, subs up as far forward in the box as possible) tuned to anywhere from 30-32 cant remember, with that off of 2 hifonics bxi2006d's was able to get 146.0 with music, on the TL, it was kinda dissapointing so i sold them and bought (2) dd9515g's in hopes of having more box possibilities and getting closer to 150, so ive decided to go crx style again subs all the way forward on top and port(s) BACK, but my dillema is i can pretty much make any size aeroport i want, but i can only flare it with a roundover bit, i have what i believe is the biggest they make for handheld routers, this one http://cgi.ebay.com/1pc-1-2-SH-1-1-2-Rad-Round-Over-Beading-Router-Bit_W0QQitemZ130316778549QQcategoryZ50386QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3907.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSICRS1%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D15%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D54

now is that enough of a flare to be considered an aero, and give me the added benefits of going aero? if so will it give me just as much a benfit if i use that bit on a single very large slot port, assuming i do it to both ends? now if only using round aero ports is the way to go should i do about (4) 6", or anything up to about a single 12", i read somewhere that a single port works better for some reason.

and another question i have is if anybody has any past experience in port placement in relationship to sub placement in the box, for instance subs all the way to passenger side....port all the way to driver side or everything centered with port between subs, just curious if anyone has any suggestions about what has worked well for them in the past

and this is all in a newer body style durango SUV year 2004, the inside is similar to a grand cherokee id say, i will be keeping the 2 hifonics amps for now, (1) per sub at 1 ohm, new box will be 8cuft tuned to 40hz daily, with a quick test vehicle seemed to peak at 45-46hz, my goal is to hopefully burp 150 keeping it a daily setup, so no interchangeable ports, id really like to do 150 with music but thats a stretch.....thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any suggestions

you are off to a good start...There is someone on here that competes with a Durango so maybe he could give you some suggestions.

I'm surprised your last setup didn't meter higher, I had a single 18" off about 2000watts in an SUV and it was louder than that. It could have been due to your box tuning. Those DD's like 40ish tuning, so I'm sure that they will do well.

and you can use those concrete forms (sonotubes) for ports. They usually come in 8", 10", and 12" diameters. I have used them with good results. Plus they are cheap

Honestly I don't think it would be hard for them to make it where you use android auto AND your own music source. They made it able to do so...

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
