2 NS 12's would be nasty, but I would consider doing Z's instead. The nightshades can take some abuse and you won't get the most out of them off a 3k

Something like this, 2 12's is considerably more cone area than even 4 8's.

Oh, and I would strongly consider subs and port forward, sealed off from the trunk. You should get pretty loud.

2 12's is not more cone area than 4 8s... 8*4=32....12*2=24.... so four 8s would have more cone area

sorry forgot simple geometry..... area of a circle is pi*radius^2 so yes two twelves would be more cone area than 4 8's...

5*8=40, and2*12=24.... almost twice the cone area bro..... and I think that all op has to do is make a smaller box with a lot of port...

Not sure if I can seal it off. I messed around all day today with subs/port up, subs/port forward, and subs/port back. Subs/port back is still the loudest and still sounds the best. Go figure. Im willing to bet subs back/side port is even louder.

The main reason I picked the NS is because I found a motor/basket for 100 bucks. I could recone it for 100, and end up with a "brand new" NS 12 sub for 200 bucks. Then I would just need to find another.

I cant even find any 12" Zs... blown/broken or working. I cant afford them new. Would probably have to trade someone for them even used.

1.8 is wayyy too big for an sa8.... They should be in about .5-.7ft^3 net.... Trunks are not the best for getting loud but it has been done.... I would say try a smaller box for the 3 8's.... give it plenty of port and a fairly high tuning if you just want to burp high... IMO

1.8 is too big for 3 SA 8s? I dont understand. You said .5-.7 each. 1.8 is for ALL 3 subs.. that comes out to .6 each. Thats what Sundown recommends. Also, I dont just want to burp high.. thats so pointless IMO. I want my peak around where it is now (41hz) so it still sounds great listening to music and isnt just a one hit wonder.
