help me find the "holy grail"

please give me your opinions on the best type of sub enclosure - bear in mind that i want a combination of good SQ and high SPL.

currently running 2 MAaudio 12's in a sealed box.

i would go with a small to medium sealed box, bandpass boxes dont have much for sq and ported boxes can handle as much power and are not as accurate with the bass hits

Really it depends on what you want..sealed can be made to get loud but is the best for SQ purposes.. If you want a good combo I would go ported but keep it tuned below 45 hz for better low end response.

you tune it by the size of the diameter of the port and then the length of it

i agree, go with a sealed enclo they make the sub more punchy, and more accurate, but it does take more power to push them, but it is worth it
