Help me design a crate

Ok I am going to be shipping my sub Back to RE in Henderson from canada and I want to make sure it gets there without any problems.
Anyone able to help me out?
When I shipped my MT to a guy on the forum.. I used 3/4ply wood for a base.. with 4 2x2 peices of wood on the corners.. another 3/4plywood plate for the sub to mount too.. then another peice of 3/4 in plate raised 1.5in off the surround to protect it. Sub wrapped in trashbag.., tapped and sealed.. then alotta peanuts cause I didn't want them anymore. lol.. got htere perfect. He might have pictures.. I'm not sure..

Edit: My crate was built exactly for a carboard box I had.. so no movement could occur.

It's not that difficult. Build a baffle just large around to make the cutout and drop the driver in...cut another piece for the bottom. Use 2x4's or whatever other sturdy wood you have laying around to seperate the two. Put another baffle in front of the cone to protect that from damage.

Heavy, but it hopefully should get there in one piece...

I dont think packing peanuts will help any. if this sub moves around it will crush those little things.

But some great ideas. sort of like a band pass box out of plywood.

first box designs, now shipping crate designs, jebus, use common sence.
Man listen have you known the bad luck i have had with this sub?

If not expect the worst cause it will probley be droped off a 10 story building before it gets to RE.

Anyways here is what I am doing.

man i know.,

hey just drive it out your self! nothing like a good road trip.
That is something I would love to do.

The learning experience as well.

I could watch them recone it and then next time I could do it my self.

Also get to meet all the RE boys.

HUMMMMMM now you got me thinking

LoL if i put that on the box will just make them kick it around some more cause they will think something this heavy cant be that breakable.

omg... it's so easy to ship out a sub and have no problems. What you do is tightly package the sub with a cardboard box. Making sure the box is tightly on the sub. Then you get a bigger box, then fill it with "popcorn" 1/4th of the bigger box, then that's where u lay the sub inside in. Then fill that whole box with popcorn, and voila. It's well protected.
