i want to build a computer similar to those specificaitons for my dorm next year. i dont really know where to start. i know i should get a barebones kit but what exactly do i need to buy AFTER i get a barebones kit?

so im just going to throw something out there, unless you absolutly cannot spend the extra money buy newer technonogy, i would recomend XP because Vista still got some major bugs in it

Im not going to be doing a lot of heavy gaming on it. I just want it to be fast and have a lot of memory for songs and files.

AMD AM2 X2, cheap now. DDR2 1gb ram. AM2 mobo. No gaming = onboard video. Get that case if you want it, get a 500watt PSU. PSU's that come in cases are shit. DVD/CD burner and reader. Then grab your ccfl's if you want them and purdy fans.
