Ended up not buying the Tahoe I wanted because the dealership just kept trying to screw me. But I finally settled on a 2004 GMC Envoy XL. Has the 5.3L V8 in it. 4x4 and all the options. I like it a lot. Starting the planning stages of my new system and I want you guys input. The only piece of the system I have so far is the sub amp and I already have a ton of 1/0 wiring. Sub amp is a Rockford Fosgate T20001BD.

So I need 2 subs. ( I would like to try 15's since I have the room now, I have always done 10's or 12's because of my space being limited ) Subs need to sound good on 1000 RMS a piece daily.

Need a decent HU. I would really like one that will read a USB drive but it isn't 100% necesary.

Some Components to put up front and an amp to run them. My Mustang had the PG Rsd65cs up front and I have to say for the money those little things sounded **** good.

Lets try to keep a $1500 budget. If you had $1500 to spend on the items needed. What would you buy? Also anyone else with a similar vehicle have any pics of their setup installed to give me ideas?

Just to let you guys know what I am currently looking At and get suggestions from people that have used them. I am looking hard at either some Fi Q 15's or the AQ HDC3 15's. Never used either. From what I can gather, both are excellent subs and both are in my price range. I also looked at Fi BL 15's, I can't tell what the difference between those and the Q's are besides them having a lot more options. Would appreciate any feedback.

Heres what I'm looking at right now.

2 Fi Q 15's ( probably in 8 cubes at 35hz )

Rockford Fosgate T20001BD ( already Have )

Deka Intimidator 9A31 ( already Have )

Sony Xavc1 Head Unit

2 sets of PG RSD65cs Components

Rockford Fosgate T600-2 for the PG's

Puts me at $1320.50 total

Well seeing you basically have the same vehicle i have. I have a 05 Trailblazer. I would go with like some rainbow 6.5 componets in each set of doors which is what should be in the front and rear doors. Now i just bought a Jensen Vm9512 for mine and im in love with it. It has all the same features as like the Alpine IVA D310 but with out the cost. I paid right at 500 for mine from soniceletronix.com and i couldnt be happier. the only thing is if you want navigation you have to buy the Nav 101 for it which is like 280 more but still very worth the price over all i think. On subs i would go with either Fi Q or Fi BTL, or kicker L7's. almost anything will sound good in there. I have a 800 watt pioneer 12 in a small sealed box and it sounds good. GL wth it. I you would like to talk more hit me up on yahoo messenger. sn is djarmy2004. Hope this helps you.

PS. If you use an aftermarket HU you need to run your own ignition wire from the column cause there isnt one on the harness

Look into something Pioneer or Alpine for the HU, get some nice RCAs, a good install, and you should be set.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still kinda going back and forth on the subs. Can anyone with experience tell me the main differences between the Fi Q and BL subs? Just from reading it seems like the Q's are more geared towards SQ and the BL's for SPL. But I honestly have no idea. I'm also just looking at some plain ol Kicker L7 15's they are about half the price of the Fi subs. Just wondering if the extra cost on the subs is really worth it.

I've never used a kicker sub before either so I really don't know what to expect. I'm trying to try some new things. I can't get away from my Fosgate Amps though, I have run a ton of them and never once has one failed on me. They seem to be solid as a rock.

If you use the correct harness then you don't need to do this. They are made to deal with GM's and the lack of an acc wire. try Metra GMOS-01 or GMOS-04 if you have bose.

I like it to be loud. I also want it to sound good though. So that pretty much throws the L7's out. How about the CVX, from what I read those are just a round L7 pretty much.
