Help me build a system

Hi all, I'm not a very big audio pro, but I do like quality sound. I always wanted to get a very nice system, and today I realized now is the time ) I have an '05 Scion TC, and as you all know it has a pretty descent audio system stock, 160 watts I think. I'm looking to spend around $1000 on everything, and I guess I'll need to start from scratch. I'd like to keep my head unit though, I like it as it is, please tell me if I'll need to change it and if it will be able to handle the power of amp that I will get. Also, just to let you all know, I listen to DubStep, music that probably puts most strain on bass and speakers overall, and not just bass like hip-hop for ex. Oh and you probably need to include assembly and installation cost, because I won't be able to do it. I'm basically looking for the kind of help where you list the components that I will order online. Thanks all

Can you measure your the max height, width, and depth you have available for a sub-woofer enclosure? This will help more then anything your looking for product.

Also, the enclosure will change your output in every aspect. If you go cheap on that you will know it when you turn it on.

I'm not sure if the stock speakers can go as far as I want them to, so I guess I need speakers too

and about the hight, I just realized I don't even know where the subs would go, because my car is a hatchback, so I don't really have a trunk trunk like on normal cars if you get what I mean

Well the problem is, I don't know what a good amp is, that's why I need more detailed help where you kind of list all components that I need to get
These subs, with this amp.

there are tons of other configurations, but that is a pretty solid setup right there. and it leaves plenty of money for speakers, amps, and install accessories.

I would say budget speaekers in. However, if you are just wanting to up the low end and your stock speakers are still performing then reducing the bass they reproduce will ensure they last longer and will allow you to still get clean sound.

With that said, in most cases even a cheap replacement set is better then stock..not every time though.

You have to remember. Stock systems are designed around the car and it's audio limits of the components. When you change those components and not the unit you MAY get less then wanted results.

If you can get those measurements I can get you some ideas on enclosure options. Even a few quotes if you need it.

That would also let you know were you stand for sub/amp/speaker/wire/converter funds and options.

Ok, well so you have an idea of what the back of my car looks like I'll add a pic. So you understand, those seats fold which turns my car into a truck, having tons of space, I can fit 2 bikes in there. I guess I'd have to place my subs behind seats and refrain from folding them in the future? I would be ok with that pretty much. Also I will get measurements in about 5 min.

-edit : guess I can't add picture or any url's because i'm new, you could probably google "scion tc trunk" like I did to see what it looks like

you can pm me and I will link them for you

I'm thinking you could so a smaller setup ported and keep the amp mounted in the car out of the way some were. That way if you need to use the area to haul anything you still can.

If you want to keep your stock h/u just upgrade the speakers..Then buy a line out converter if the amp you get doesn't have one already. Buy any amp or subs these guys suggest. Are you paying to have it installed?

Idea of what he is working with....HUGE room haha.
