I loved my 600 dollar setup.

Kenwood KDC-X491 direct connect for iPod. -169 at crutchfield, but can be had much less at other online stores, but needed what came with the package.

Pioneer Premier 720c's comps for front-125 at most places, but can be had for 100 bucks depending.

Pioneer Premier 6x8's in rear doors.- 58 at onlinestereo.com

2 12" Pioneer Premier championship series subs. 65 each at onlinestereo.com

1 Autotek 1000rms 1-ohm stable sub amp.-150 at onlinestereo.com

Already had the highs amp, crossover and wiring from previous setup, so I would have been pushing 800 all set and done, but not too shabby.

500.00 gets you pretty shabby stuff if you go to any retail outlet.....If you DIY install you can get it done but Id up your budget just a little more even if you Ebay purchase everything which is what I would do

but you can build a simple system for cheap - this forum specializes in cheap so I am sure you can get the proper guildence...
