Help me build a groundpounder.

I'm trying to decide what to do with my Ford Contour next, I still have to upgrade my electrical, but i'm thinking an extra battery in the back will suffice but I don't know to what extent.

I currently have a 750$ budget around 900$ if I can manage to sell my BRZ1700 eventually

Looking for something to beef up my electrical (Still deciding whether to drop the 400+ dollars on an alt), and nice pair of 12's that will be louder than my SA12's and a solid 2k+ amp that will power them.

Let me know what you guys would personally do in my situation.

All of this is going in the trunk btw

Let me know if you guys need anymore info

Get the mechman and a nice xs d3100 and a small xs for under the hood and your electrical is good up to about 5k then save a bit and let's talk nasty substage.

Will I need to get a battery isolator if I'm running two different sized batteries? And is it possible just keeping the yellowtop upfront and having a xs3100 in the back? I don't want to go through the trouble of selling the yellowtop.

Just bought 50 feet of OFC 1/0 for 95 shipped haha. Let me know some good batteries to buy, and do you guys really think I will need an extra battery if I get a 270 amp alternator running 2000+ watts? I think i'll end up getting another pair of SA12's but running them with a solid 2k+ amp instead of the BRZ1700.
@dbeez @murph Let me know what I should do ;) IDK whether to get the alternator first then save up for the battery or the other way around. Most likely getting the d3100 but I heard charging their batteries without the XS battery charger voids the warranty.
If you are only going to be running 2k and not more in the future a ho alt is not really needed. I still recommend one and yes you will need a secondary battery running 2k with the alt. Running different sized batteries should not need an isolator.

I am not a fan of the Optimas when running systems never had them last get the alt then save for the batts then save for amp then save for subs do it once and do it right save a ton of cash.
