I have an 06 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab and need some better sound!

I already have a Pioneer DEH9400 deck and Focal Poly Kevlar mids and highs for the fronts and rears. I also have all the wiring I will need.

I need:

Cheap 10" or 12" sub for under the rear bench seat, obviously in a small enclosure.

cheap amp for mids and highs

cheap amp for the 10" or 12" sub

I want to keep my total cost below $400 for all of this stuff! I am not opposed to used equiptment so if you have something that you think I migt like let me know. Obviously the mounting depth needs to be minimal on the sub.

I am going to build a box with these dimensions

12" = height

48" = length

6.5" = bottom depth

5" = top depth

I am going to try for 4 - 8" subs if it works out right. So does anyone know of any shallow mount subs that might work?

$400 isn't going to get much if you want a sub,box and amp for that price. I would go with a 10" sub as it would cost less and take less space to be properly installed. As far as an amp goes Look for a 5 or 6 channel with built in crossover. That will keep your cost down on wire, distribution blocks, fuses and such. You can get the PPI multi channel for about $300 on Ebay. I have never used one of these but they are made by DEI, same people that build Orion, so it should be a good piece. That should keep you close to 4 bills if you can find a good 10" pretty cheap and build your own enclosure.

edit: or you could just check out his stuff ^^^

In my price I am not including the box or wiring/fuses/misc!

I will take care of the box myself and I have everything else already from my previous car audio setups!

So really all you need is an amp and sub correct? That should be easy on a four bill budget.

1 13.5" jl 13w1v2 cheap sealed box, e1200 and an e4300 d
That is actually almost exactly what I had in mind. Just wasnt so sure about teh 4channel amp!

I am still open to ideas fellas!

I think all I need to do now is check and see if I can get a JL 13w1v2 sub under the seat and in an enclosure! If so that will be what I do!

I am getting all excited, I miss having atleast a little bit of a decent stereo! In the GTO I just listen to the Exhaust and Blower. I try to turn the radio way up at the track, but it sounds like crap, but I guess it does the job of getting me pumped up before and on my way down the drag strip!

Hell between the 13w1v2 and the Directed Amp I am only spending probably about 260 shipped. I just hope I can build my own box for under the seat, Should I port the box or seal it? I think I can make space to port it, otherwise I will just seal it off!
