Hey guys, im new to this forum... i always followed but finally registered.. my name is mikey by the way. Anyway I just received the JL Audio TR650-CSI's that i purchased for my car... I ordered to pair.. front/back.... I have to questions..

1. They don't come with crossovers, how do i install them with the tweeter... as you all know tweeters only do highs... if i connect positive and negative... won't they blow right away?? They're called "in-line" crossovers... so if anybody has any idea thx

2. I heard it makes no sense to use tweeters in the back aswell... I heard it ruins my "imaging?"..

thx for all the help guys.. -mike

It's a cheap simple crossover built in. More of a capacitor that blocks low frequencies to the tweet. They are designed to work like that out of the box. I had a set of those a long time ago, and I'll probably put them in my girl's car one day. They are just sitting around collecting dust. Anyway, they are better than stock. They get pretty loud, but they don't have a lot of midbass and they aren't the cleanest sounding speakers out there. Don't overpower them. If you are going to use them in the rear, go ahead and use the tweets too. The rear mids alone will sound very muddy without a tweet to go with them. I highly suggest getting a better set for the front, but it's your ride.

the TR's do have an extremely simple crossover, but it's basically just a cap inline with the tweeter.

quite a while ago i was running a set of the tr 650csi's off a jl 300/2 and they sounded great, no complaints with them at all. the midbass had a lot of life, and they were very warm. the tweets were a bit bright, but a little EQ'ing is no problem. i never blew anything, and believe me, i was most definitely not easy on them! i ended up upgrading to the XR's (this was long before the ZR's came about) and it was much richer and fuller, but a fair bit more money than the tr's. for a budget speaker, they are a great sounding set. you just need to do a bit of tuning on them, and they'll do you just fine.

i am a firm believer in overpowering. you can never have 'too much' power. the more power you have, the less your amp has to work in order to make optimum power for the speakers. the less the amp has to work, the more efficiently it'll run. the mroe efficient it runs, the cooler it runs. the cooler it runs, the cleaner it sounds. there's nothing like having sick amounts of headroom //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
