Your not being very clear. But you have four wires, i guess from the rear for some reason. Is the battery back there? Anyway you know the remote. So now you are down to three. Testing them for positive negative is easy. You can do it the ghetto way and QUICKLY touch them to the chassis. If you get a spark you have found your positive. That leaves you with the negative and acc. Do the same thing with the acc. If it has power with the key on it will spark when it hits a ground. Or use a multimeter.

You don't even need a multimeter. You can get a test light from advance, walmart, etc for only a few bucks and do the same thing. I had the extra 5 or 6 dollars, I would buy a multimeter anyway as they are good to have around.

Some Cadilacs have the factory radio in the trunk, while the display was in the dash everything else was remotely mounted in the rear. Without the proper tools and little knowledge how to use them, this could take a lot of explaining. Any chance of a snap shot of what you have to work with - anything color coded?

double post

BTW digital multimeters are $10-15 test lights are ok, but in his situation he might need to look for AC if probing for speaker wire
