Help Choosing the correct Amp for a SA-12 D2 sub

hey guys I'm looking for some advice on an amp purchase for a SA-12 D2

currently i'm looking at the following:

SAZ-1000D

SAE-1000D

SOUNDSTREAM P1.1500D

Hifonics HFi1500D

Hifonics Brutus BRX1200.1D

gonna attempt to build the sub box from 3/4 excel plus mdf..(more dense than regular mdf) using Sundowns specs ( 1.5-2.0 ft^3 @ 35hz)

I'm thinking of wiring the Sub for 1ohm... what would be the optimal setup/amp/wiring to get the most out of my sub

any help/input would be greatly appreciated

One more quick question....what about the Sundown SCV-1500D...would that be overkill for one sub?

not really, hell, you'd have headroom to add in another sub in the future.

Rockford has low sensitivity and Xmax compared to the sundown and the big fancy looking basket is just there to hide the pansy @ss motor thats inside. The price is ridiculous for what you are actually getting, mainly a sub for show, sundown will definitely get louder based on design and build quality. In the 350$ category, look up HDC3 12 or Dss Ethos 12, or tantric HDD. You'll need a bigger ported enclosure then the one you are building now.

right now i'm running a Fosgate T0D412 on a Power T500-1bdCP............wired at 2 ohms in my 2010 Edge..it hits ok and I get the lows....but I know I can do a lot better

I've heard some impressive sound from JL w7s...but those are waaaaaaay out my budget...

the SA-12 seems like a beast for that price....just trying to decide what would be my best option for powering it without killing my wallet

Same price as an SCV 1500.1 but more power

Step up in the subwoofer class if you want to see big improvements

HDC3.112 Copper Coil Subwoofer

Make sure you do the big 3 upgrade and get some agm batteries for your battery bank.

Just power it off your rockford amp for now, see how it sounds.

its temporary till you get the next amp. It would give you a good idea of how much more power you'll actually need depending on how much the sub is actually moving in your enclosure.
