Help choose shallow mount sub!

Yes, I've already searched the forums, I've read through a few of the topics, but I still have some questions. For instance, what's the difference in these two Pioneers, one's premier and one isn't:

Their specs are the same, price is the same, is it just the same woofer only with Premier instead of Pioneer wrote on the front? What kind of SQ can I expect from them? I listen to mostly rock/hip-hop/rap.

Also, any estimates on when the eD shallow mount subs will be released? What's a good SQ shallow mount (I was looking at the illusion audio ones, but I heard they were expensive, I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere though?).

what is this woofer going in? vehicle and box if you already have one.

'99 Ford Ranger, regular cab, and the box will be custom made to fit the sub/truck (so 1cu ft for that Pioneer). I can make the box up to 1.2cu ft before it'd really get in my way.

what is the max mounting depth for the woofer?

Well, the top of the box can be around 5" (not counting 3/4 MDF) and the bottom can be around 9" (not counting 3/4 MDF).

Well, I saw the price on the TC (it was $250+ no?) and that's not going to happen. I'm looking for around $150 (those Pioneers can be had for like $130). And besides, I just want some sound right now. I can always sell off the pioneer and get the TC later, but I doubt I will because this will likely be the last upgrade I make to this truck (selling it really soon hopefully!).

Anyone know where I can buy an Exile (and other "not quite as known" brand) subs? And how do you think they'd compare to the Pioneer shallows in SQ and SPL?

They just came out with a shallow mounting 10". It's got a different look to it.

How long has that sub been for sale? I checked a few days ago and couldn't find their shallow mount (I only found the pictures in the forums and stuff). Sweet, that's the one I actually wanted because I heard eD was really good (I've never heard them myself).

So, would that 10" eD compare pretty well to the Pioneer 12"? I know it probably won't be as loud, but that's not extremely important, especially if I can fit two //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
