Hi all

I am basically new to car audio. Well, I have been viewing some systems to buy, which include a headunit and 2 speakers and came across this one: http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-kdc-w534-kfc-e6945_p-22849.htm

If I purchase this system would I need an amplifier since the output from headunit is 45Wx4 while speaker power is 450W?

Also can someone give me some links to helpful sites to get me started?

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That's peak power. If you were to give those 6X9's 450 Watts all day long, they probably wouldn't be around to put out a sound wave the next day. I would just run them off of the HU without an amp in the rear of your car. Save the amp for a set of component speakers for up front.

first of dude welcome but dont do it

1, the deck only has one set of preouts try to get one with at least 3

so later on you can run fronts rears and sub of amps

2. the 6x9s will run of you deck easily but it wont sound that good waht i suggest is a digital full range 4channel amp about 100x4 and a monoblock amp upto about 1000w then grab some good componet front speakers and 6x9s or even just some 6" coax rears a goodd sub in a prefabbox and the amps get a head unit whalla you have boo boom and lots of room the whole setup if you good at getting deals and you buy some secondhand stuff could cost as little as 1500-200bucks US or 200-2500 bucks AUD in the ol poundage i dont know try ebay for some deals and if you dont know your gear that well try to stick with name brands like pioneer fusion and i know that the uk has some cool vibe stuff also blaupunkt kenwood and clarion then you should be fairly safe
