help: 12" SQL SUB UNDER $200? 1000-1500RMS

I have a old school rockford bd1000a1 amp, and i am looking for a 12" sub that will handle the power cleanly, and have good spl and sound quality if possible for under $200...after long research, i am lost!..Please help..

I like the way 12's sound, so thats why i want a 12, and i have an acura legend that i either wanna port through my arm rest in the back seat, or a ported box firing back in trunk...Any thoughts on what would be best would be appreciated...thanks...btw, i have a new Kicker cvr-15d4 and i hate it!!!!

cvx, really?

i hate the cvr i have. its loud, but horrible sound quality.

fi q is a good sub, but about $250 shipped, so a little over my price range

CVX's, i had two twelves and i absolutely loved them, had bout 1500rms if that, and all i can say is WOW!

how much room do you have to work with? I personally would go with 2 mb quart rwe352 15's sealed in 1.5 cubes each, a friend of mine has a pair in a 3.3 cube sealed box of 1200 rms and they sound great and have a decent bit of out put for a sealed setup.

well, i built a 4.2 cu.ft. slot ported box @ 31hz for the cvr and it was loud, but sounded like ***...lol, plus, it def couldnt handle my amp, @ half gain it worked the hell outta it...anyways, back to the box situation, my box was almost immpossible to get in and out of the trunk, another reason why i want a 12"...

16.5"h X 35"w X 12.5"d is what i have to work with approximately..or 3.2 cu. ft. on the 12v.com website calculated

really it doesn't matter much. You can always turn the amp down. People get far too caught up in RMS wattage and power that amps produce. Music tones constantly vary in amplitude and speakers constantly change impedence. Since your biggest complain before was SQ, here are some SQ oriented woofers that can get pretty loud too. Don't get caught up in the idea that many SPL oriented woofers are much louder than most well built SQ speakers, because for daily use, most aren't. They are simply very hard to break and handle high power very well.
