Heh...lame *** amp wont power on.

EVERY thing that could go wrong has. Right now the amp wont power on. The hot wire from the battery to the amp has power...the ground is grounded good...WELL the wire is questionable...4 gauge not 4/0. Its not a real fine wire...its thick strands. Its thick enough to where the wire isnt really what I would call flexible. $.67 a foot at a appliance/part shop...figured HEY I will save myself $1.83 a foot and grab it...since a wire is a wire if its the right gauge for a ground...atleast thats what I think and a few others think lol.

Amp is a Audiopipe 15001d...bought new off of ebay. Well the box is a bit beat up...but im assuming its just because fedex sucks. Amp was in plastic wrapper and had no scratches or anything on it.

Player is a Kenwood KDC-138. The instructions on the amp shows a remote connection...BUT the player doesnt have an output for it. So yea...

The subs are 2 DVC 12" 4ohm Alpine Type Rs. Dont know why I mentioned it but it doesnt hurt lol.

Spent the last 2 days trying to get this thing hooked up...the factory mounts snapping and being forced to make new mounts and make the player sturdy took up a good portion of it.

Anyways yea any suggestions? I guarntee is probably something simple...but I am just so frustrated im ready to just take a **** shotgun to the audio equipment and the car...the car simply because its having issues atm as well lol. Is the remote hooked up? Jump your remote from the hot on amp and see if that works

If it does that means the remote on your deck isnt good

So you dont have a remote wire going from your HU to your amp? U need that to turn the amp on when your head unit kicks on. A quick thing, jump your power wire on the amp to the remote part on your amp and see if it kicks on. That HU should have a remote wire, its usually a blue wire.

Their is no remote output on the player deck or whatever u wanna call it...it just has the RCA outputs.

2 wires that are blue. One is for the power/motor antenna...its blue+white. Their is a blue wire but its listed as not used so I left it alone. I will try that jump thing tomorrow to see if it works or not.

the blue white i am fairly sure is the remote wire. it was on my kit. The harness with the radio should be blue, find out what its connected to and do that as well.

my audiopipe 1800 randomly stopped working today too.

all my connections are good. checked it with a dmm.

all my fuses aren't blown.

im guessing a blown fuse inside the amp

or something is blown in there?

Or you wake up to someone backing into the front of your car and driving away and now your stuck paying 500 to get it fixed for something you didnt even do to it.... thats how my day went today. Id much rather have my amp not turn on because i didnt have the remote wire connected.

PS: I hate when that happens, thats why when i buy socks i buy a whole bunch of the same kind so it give me better odds...

LOL if your HU won't accept remote wire then you need a new one that does.

If the deck has RCA outputs it has I have a remote wire. Try the blue and white one, that's typically the color of the remote wire.
